{Amazing} Scavenger Hunt Birthday Party

This picture pretty well sums up the whole birthday party for Miss Cinderella!!  My husband totally rocked this birthday party. Sure the food, goodie bags, invites and all that other stuff was left to me but he put together the scavenger hunt!  He did a truly amazing job with everything! It was a ton of work but lots of fun as you can see by these smiling faces.

The group ready to take off after getting the race instructions and teams assigned.  Oh they have no idea in this picture how much running and looking they will be doing!

One of the requirements was to find the pirate ship and get your picture taken in front of it.  Someone was embarrassed...

Searching for items too bad it was in the wrong spot - tee hee!

Getting there...gearing up for part 2

After the scavenger hunt that was so much fun we had some pizza, ice cream cake and gifts. Then we went back to the pirate ship for a tour of the high seas and there was a lot of screaming going on!  Then we topped off the night by doing some fireworks to celebrate the day.

I think I will start hiring my husband out to do birthday parties now! I think this was one of the best birthday parties we have ever had.  Thank you Rhino for making this so special!

Ghouls Night Out 2011

This year again we enjoyed Ghouls Night Out....it was lots of fun and the weather was perfect. We went with October Moon's family again this year minus herself!  She forgot about her conference until after we bought tickets so she was missed tonight.  But Mr. October Moon gave away her ticket and the guy that got the ticket looked pretty happy.  He was young and on a date so I am sure it was appreciated.

We were there right as it opened and got to beat the crowds. When we arrived it was still light out so we could see where we were going to avoid tripping over all the little ghouls wearing costumes.  It was also interesting to see the costumes that surfaced throughout the night...Darth Vaders, Cows and little boys with jet packs!  Still thinking about the cow so I need to move on!

Moving on...

We went through the haunted train barn to end up watching some dancers...I jumped out of my skin because out of nowhere there was a dude standing right beside me!

Took a look around at all the sights...we even resemble ghosts....

Did some moves like Jagger...

Look the background of this picture....

The money shot of the night...

Some quicksand personally I thought it was a CSI boneyard....

A great time was had by all! The glow sticks while they lasted were a hit.  Next time I think I will staple them onto my children so they don't drop them or lose them!  And the hand warmers were a nice surprise at the end of the night.  We saw Princess Belle's student teacher working at the candy shoppe very neat if I don't say so myself. Good times and good night!!

Happy Birthday!!

My first baby isn't a baby anymore...instead she is a beautiful young woman!  We are so lucky to have her in our little family.  She is always kind, happy and ready to try anything.  She is loved.
Happy Birthday!!

This is just one of my all time favorite pictures of Miss Cinderella. Isn't she beautiful?!

Boo'ed

I love Halloween and all the decorations.  But the best thing about Halloween is getting Boo'ed.  October Moon may or may not have Boo'ed my kids and they LOVED it.  How cute is this?!  What a fantastic after school surprise.

Look at all the little details the little clip, the ribbon and oh my the stamps!  Great job and thank you!!  Happy Boo'ing everyone.

Trailer Love

In the span of about 2 months I've seen something a bit different....painted trailers.  Now this is one I could really admire and really appreciated all the work that went into it.

1951 Fireball AKA "The Creamsicle"
Restoring trailers into vintage masterpieces would be a labour of love.  I admire all the commitment and effort not to mention the money spent on the restoration.

But I've also been seeing trailers that are really just junk and not all that vintagey (is that a word!!) and really probably weren't worth the effort or the cost of the paint.  Case in point...this one just so happens to be in my neighbourhood.  Hope they don't see this on my blog!
We'll call this "Pink Panther"
We'll call this "Darth Vader"
We saw this trailer while driving to Spokane. You have to look up the road a bit - it is hard to see but it was painted ALL black...and when I mean all black even the windows and the vents! I was hoping I was going to get a better picture because we weren't sure if the whole unit was roadworthy and that they would be travelling slower on the highway. Well, before we knew it it blew right past us and was passing everything in sight...and alas why I have the poor quality picture!

So now we are on the lookout for painted trailers!  Lets hope they are of the more classic variety!!

Wetlands Study

I had the pleasure to go with this girls class to a provincial park that happens to be in our neighbourhood. I really should appreciate the park more since it is rare to have such close access to a huge park.  The class was studying the wetlands....we got to see engineered and natural wetlands, some deer, a beaver, and lots of great scenery.  It was an all day field trip and it is a bit of a hike from the school but in the end it is worth seeing the learning that goes on in our backyard.  I sure slept good after all that walking and fresh air!

Day 7

I think I am going to make it!! It hasn't been that hard but I have cheated twice and had about 3 sips but it wasn't that satisfying...so I think this could work.  Goodbye Pepsi....I'll keep you informed of my progress. I haven't missed drinking pop as much as I thought I would.  Very strange indeed.

In other news Miss Cinderella is enjoying her riding lessons A LOT!!

Peaches and My Girl!!

We have had the most amazing fall!! I still have lots of flowers that is definitely a first some of them are in rough shape but they are still alive. So I am happy and very surprised about that!  This is what my backyard looks like right now...I love the red leaves.  We usually only see yellow leaves so this is a nice treat.

The leaves are falling but I still am enjoying our maple tree from Nova Scotia it hasn't even started to turn color yet. Rhino loves this tree and so does everyone because it really shouldn't live here but it does!Although a few leaves have fallen off not very many have hit the ground.  I must remind myself of this wonderful fall when they are forecasting we will have the coldest and large amounts of snow this winter!  Which reminds me I need to get winter boots for the Princesses ASAP before they are all gone!

Enjoy your fall day and I will too!

My Break-Up

It is funny (well not really) but I do like my pop a little too much.  Just for the record I don't do coffee and I don't do alcohol so pop was kinda my thing. But I happened upon this post on breaking up with diet coke I knew she was onto something.  But I don't even drink diet pop because I don't like aspartame! So as a result I am drinking a million calories a day which is not a good thing.  A good friend who is a doctor told me to avoid aspartame as it probably isn't that good for you.

I was drinking between 1-3 cans a day and just like that post I read I would sometimes do a drive thru too - especially when McDonald's had $1 drinks in the summer!  Hey it's only a buck and I sure could use a drink mentality hit.  I read her post on Sunday and enjoyed my last pop that night.  I am on day 4 and have to say it has been going really good much better than I thought!  I'm not really craving it as bad as what I thought.  I may have had a slight headache on day 2....but it could have also just as likely been life!  Now I have to admit I did cheat today and I opened up a can but only drank about 3 mouthfuls and felt bad that I was drinking it and also that I wasn't really enjoying the taste so down the drain it went.

I will let you know how this goes....wish me luck. Here I come day 5! Anyone else care to admit that they have this problem too?!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great dinner with family and friends!  We sure did.  I can't believe that Thanksgiving is here already time seems to have just flown by.

After dinner we played a friendly game of scrabble and I was thinking about music....I know totally unrelated.  Lately, we have been groovin' in the car to this song....

When I saw the actual lyrics I was surprised to say the least.  I guess we really shouldn't be rocking out to this song...but I do love the beat of it.  Like I say totally unrelated to Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Fisher Price Toys

Isn't this classic...

The best part is that I still have some of these toys - thanks to my Mom for keeping them all these years.  I was lucky enough to have the castle, vacation house, and houseboat!  Somewhere though in my memory I can remember playing with the hospital but it isn't in my collection in my basement.

My favorite toy though was the castle I used to play with it for hours at a time.  I loved that pink dragon, drawbridge and secret room.  Such good memories.

And now I am storing them just like my Mom did. The problem is that I am probably storing too many things in my basement because it always looks like a bomb went off!  Happy Friday!!!

Ladybug Love

Have you noticed an insane amount of ladybugs?  I have!!  I have found them all over the outside of the house and also a few have made their way into the house.  Even though they are cute I would prefer if they stayed outside.

Please ignore all my grime and dirt on the light!

My Song

Everyone needs a song and for 2011 this is my song!  It will also probably be my song for 2012 just in case you where wondering.  Can't get enough of it!

This is also cool too but not my song!  But I think the name is really cool :)!
